• The first Indian actress to be on the jury of the prestigious Cannes International Film Festival.

• Featured in the 2004 edition of the Guinness Book of World Records.

• In a poll conducted by Hello magazine, she was voted the number-one attractive woman of 2003, beating actresses such as Nicole Kidman, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Gwyneth Paltrow.

• In April 2003 she become the first Indian actress to be part of L’Oréal dream team and signed as their new international brand ambassador.

• The first Bollywood star to appear in Rolling Stone magazine (Issue 932, October 2, 2003)

• Become the first Indian actress to listed in Time magazine as one of 100 most influential people in the world (The 2004 TIME 100).

• In 2004, Aishwarya became the first Indian actress to have her own statue at London’s Madame Tussauds museum. (Pictures)

• On January 2nd, 2005, she became the first Indian actress to be interviewed on “60 Minutes”

• Voted #9 in Harpers and Queen magazine’s list of the 100 most beautiful women in the world.

• A tulip produced in 2005 was named for her.

• Voted as E’s 7th sexiest celebrity in the world.

• The first actress from India to get signed on with the American Library Association and also have a poster made of her for schools and library’s all across America.

• Second Indian actress to appear on the cover of TIME magazine in 2003.

• Become the first Indian actress to appear on international shows like, Oprah Winfrey Show, The Late Show with David Letterman, The Martha Stewart Show, The Tyra Banks Show, The Early Show.

• Aishwarya is the first goodwill ambassador for Smile Train, a charity that works worldwide for children with cleft lip.

• Ambassador for Longines watches since 1999.

• Named one of the Global Young Leaders by the Geneva-based World Economic Forum (2007)

• The first Indian actress to have her wax statue added to the Madame Tussauds museum at Times Square, New York. (August 2007)

• Forbes listed her in the 387th position out of 1,411 actors as the most bankable Indian star in Hollywood. (February 2009).

• In September 2009, Aishwarya made her second appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show this time with husband, Abhishek Bachchan, making them the first Indian couple to appear with Oprah. They were billed as “The World’s Most Famous Couple.”

• NDTV Honors her with the Female Icon of Indian Cinema Award (2010)

• The youngest actress to receive the Padma Shri award, the fourth highest civilian honour, from the Government of India for her contribution to cinema. (2009)

• The only Indian Actress to be featured in Time Magazine’s Global Women Power-pack. (April 2010)

• On October 19th 2011 a 2nd new statue of Aishwarya debuted at Madame Tussuads – Blackpool (Pictures)

• First Indian to be appointed as goodwill ambassador for UNAIDS (The Joint United Nations Programme on HIV and AIDS) in 2012

• In 2012, Aishwarya finally accepted the second-highest Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (Order of Arts & Letters), The highest French award to honor people for their contribution to the world of cinema. Earlier this ceremony has been delayed two times, Once due to Aishwarya’s father being ill and a second time in deference to the victims of the Mumbai bomb blast. Aishwarya is the fourth Indian actor after Sivaji Ganesan, Nandita Das, and Shahrukh Khan to be chosen for this prestigious honor.

• In 2012 Aishwarya become First Indian to be interviewed by legendary Sir David Frost. Aishwarya will be representing her country & Bollywood on the new series called “The Frost Interview”, when asked why Aishwarya made the perfect subject for the show Sir David Frost said: “Juxtaposed against changes sweeping through India, her arrival on the scene and her films have undoubtedly made a significant impact.”

• Aishwarya is listed at The Top Actress of the Decade 2000-2009 according to Box Office India

• Aishwarya is listed at No. 2 of Top Actresses of All Time. Ash would have come in at No. 1 if not for her 4 year break started in 2011 when she had a baby (via Box Office India)
